Our commitment to accessible financial services
As an FCA-authorised credit broker, Segen Finance is committed to treating customers fairly and ensuring that customers can access and understand information about our services, including the finance options we introduce.
We recognise that customers may have different accessibility requirements, communication preferences and support needs. We aim to ensure that our website and online customer journey do not create unnecessary barriers to accessing our services.
We take account of our responsibilities under the FCA’s Consumer Duty, including the requirements relating to consumer understanding and consumer support. This means providing information in a clear, fair and accessible way and taking reasonable steps to ensure customers can access appropriate support throughout their journey with us.
We also recognise our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 to consider and make reasonable adjustments for disabled customers where required.
How we have built this site
The site has been built with accessibility in mind from the start:
- Semantic HTML throughout, with one
<h1>per page and headings in a logical order. - A “skip to main content” link as the first item on every page.
- Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, meeting a 3:1 contrast ratio.
- Text and background colours checked against WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios. Where a brand colour fell short at small text sizes, a darker shade from the same brand palette is used instead.
- Full keyboard operability — including the navigation menu, which can be closed with the Escape key.
- Every page works with JavaScript disabled.
- Text resizes to 200% without loss of content or function, and the layout reflows to a 320 px viewport without horizontal scrolling.
- Animation and smooth scrolling are disabled for visitors who have set a reduced-motion preference.
- No information is conveyed by colour alone.
Compliance status
We have built this site to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Every check we can run without a person in the room passes:
- Every text and background colour pair measured against the AA thresholds — 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and for the edges of interactive controls. Where a brand colour fell short at small sizes, a darker shade from the same brand palette is used instead.
- Heading order, page landmarks, duplicate identifiers and image alternatives checked automatically on every page.
- Layout checked for horizontal scrolling at 320, 375 and 768 pixels wide.
- Keyboard operation checked on the navigation, the disclosure panels and the cookie controls.
We are not yet claiming formal conformance. A conformance claim should rest on testing with real assistive technology and, ideally, with disabled users — not on automated checks alone. That audit has not happened yet. We would rather tell you where we actually are than publish a claim we cannot stand behind.
Additional support and reasonable adjustments
We understand that some customers may require additional support or reasonable adjustments to access our services.
If you have an accessibility requirement or need additional assistance, you can contact us to discuss how we may be able to help.
Depending on your needs, we will consider reasonable adjustments.
Our commitment under the FCA Consumer Duty
Segen Finance is committed to delivering good outcomes for retail customers in accordance with the FCA’s Consumer Duty.
We recognise the importance of ensuring that customers can access the information and support they need to make informed decisions about finance options.
We aim to ensure that our communications are clear, fair and understandable and that customers are able to access appropriate assistance throughout their journey.
We will consider customer feedback, accessibility enquiries and issues identified through our customer journey reviews when assessing whether improvements to our website, communications and support arrangements are required.
We are committed to reviewing our accessibility arrangements as part of our ongoing approach to customer support and treating customers fairly.

Your rights
The Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 apply to public sector organisations, not to a private company, so we are not covered by them. The Equality Act 2010 does apply to us: we have a duty to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage.
If you think we have failed to make a reasonable adjustment, please raise it with us using our complaints process. If you are not satisfied with our response, the Equality Advisory and Support Service can advise you: www.equalityadvisoryservice.com.
